The people behind our homes

Good care comes down to people. These are some of the people accountable for, and delivering, the care in our homes. We name our leaders and our registered managers, because you should know who is responsible for a child's care.

Craig Rook

Craig has over a decade of experience working with children and young people across residential care, secure settings and mental health services. A qualified Social Worker with a Master's degree in Social Work and a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, he has worked within the residential sector since 2015.

Throughout his career, Craig has worked in a range of roles including Senior Residential Worker, Deputy Manager, Registered Manager, Regional Manager and senior leadership positions. He has significant experience opening and developing children's homes from the ground up, supporting services through registration and helping teams establish strong safeguarding practice, clear governance and therapeutic ways of working.

Craig has also held senior quality leadership roles, including Head of Quality and Director of Quality, where he oversaw regulatory compliance and quality assurance across large national providers with extensive portfolios of children's homes and supported accommodation. In these roles he worked closely with homes, operational leaders and local authorities to strengthen standards of care and support services to improve.

At the heart of Craig's work is a belief that children do best when they feel safe, understood and genuinely cared for. He is passionate about creating stable, nurturing homes and supporting teams to build environments where young people can rebuild trust, develop independence and move forward in their lives.

Nauman Saleem

Nauman has eight years of experience across the care sector, working with both adults and with children and young people. He began his career in adult social care and holds a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Adult Care, and he is currently enrolled in his Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare as he continues to build his practice in children's residential care.

Throughout his career, Nauman has worked in a range of roles. In adult social care he progressed from Support Worker to Deputy Manager and then Service Manager, developing the leadership and quality grounding he now brings to children's residential care, where he has moved from Deputy Manager to Proposed Registered Manager.

Nauman has particular experience supporting children and young people with autism and learning disabilities. He is skilled at creating the calm, structured and individualised environments these young people need to feel settled, build routines and make progress.

At the heart of Nauman's work is a belief that young people do best when they feel safe, understood and genuinely cared for. He is passionate about building stable, nurturing homes and supporting his team to create environments where children can develop trust, grow in confidence and move forward in their lives.

Every child and every team at Oasis is supported by an in-house clinical psychologist. This is how our therapeutic, PACE-informed approach is held in practice, not just stated.

Dr Zuzana Winter is a Senior Clinical Psychologist with over 18 years of experience working with children, young people, adults, families and professional teams across NHS, local authority, private and residential care settings.

She specialises in complex trauma, attachment difficulties, neurodiversity, emotional regulation, identity development and complex mental health presentations. Her work is grounded in the belief that behaviour is meaningful and that sustainable change happens through safe relationships, understanding and connection.

Alongside direct therapeutic work with young people, Zuzana provides psychological consultation, reflective practice and clinical guidance to residential staff teams, managers and multidisciplinary professionals. She supports services in developing psychologically informed, trauma-responsive approaches that strengthen relationships, promote emotional wellbeing and enhance placement stability.

Drawing on extensive experience across health, social care and education systems, Zuzana works collaboratively with teams to build on existing strengths and expertise, helping staff feel more confident in understanding and responding to complex behaviours and emotional needs.

Her approach combines clinical expertise with warmth, curiosity and practical thinking, supporting young people to make sense of their experiences, recognise their strengths and develop a stronger sense of identity, resilience and hope for the future.
